Russell Keogler attended Stony Brook University from 2007 to 2013 receiving a BS in Psychology, a MA in Liberal Studies, an MBA and his MPH.  Russell has held several leadership positions in healthcare facilities since graduating, including Acting Director of Admissions at the Long Island State Veterans Home, Assistant Director of Hospitals at Queens Hospital Center, and currently, Administrator of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.  In his current role, Russell is responsible for the oversight of a $350 million contract to provide long-term healthcare services to Maryland’s veterans.  Under his tenure the state has seen substantial improvements including the reduction of admission processing time from eight days to hours, a 16% increase in clinician hours per patient day, and a 20% improvement in quality indicator scores set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  Russell and his team were recognized for these improvements by the American HealthCare Association and are the only veterans-focused organization to receive the Silver Achievement in Quality Award.  Outside of his career Russell is an active community member working with organizations on both local and international humanitarian projects specifically focused on improving access to healthcare services for underserved populations.
