M.P.H., Public Health, Stony Brook University (2018)
Ph.D., Urban Health, Rutgers University and New Jersey Institute of Technology (2016)
M.D., Medicine, Rutgers (formerly UMDNJ) New Jersey Medical School (2010)

Academic Interests:
My vision is to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged populations by reducing health disparities via excellence in preventive clinical care, translational socio-behavioral science research, interdisciplinary and interprofessional pedagogy, and promotion of equitable policy-making. To achieve this vision, my goals are to enhance the capacity of health professionals to work collaboratively with disadvantaged populations to achieve optimal health outcomes and to advance the science of systematic reviews as tools for improving equity in health decision-making. My area of clinical interest is preventive medicine, with a focus on cancer prevention and control, and the use of interprofessional collaborative practice as an innovative model of care to mitigate the disparities that disadvantaged populations face. My research efforts focus on: analyzing the influence of interprofessional collaborative practice on patient health outcomes, quantifying the impact of multiple chronic conditions on the effectiveness of healthcare interventions, and using systematic review and meta-analysis as secondary data analytic tools for evidence-informed decision-making. My pedagogical work mirrors my scholarly endeavors in clinical care and research, and my central objective in policy-making is to improve health equity by promoting the use of valid, reliable, and credible synthesized evidence for all decision-making tasks.
