Brief Biography:
Dr. Freaney has extensive experience conducting community health needs assessments, designing and evaluating corporate wellness programs, managing state and CDC-funded grants, and leading coalition efforts to implement public health interventions across diverse healthcare settings. She has worked alongside local and state government officials at the foundational level to develop, advance, and implement policies addressing community and organizational priorities. In her teaching, Dr. Freaney integrates theory with her research and experiences to help students develop the analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills essential for success in healthcare and public health professions.

Research Interests:
Dr. Freaney's research focuses on health disparities and inequities affecting marginalized and vulnerable populations, particularly sexual and gender minorities and homeless LGBTQ+ youth. Through her scholarship, teaching, and community partnerships, Dr. Freaney seeks to advance health equity, strengthen communities, and prepare the next generation of healthcare and public health leaders.
