May 24, 2012: HRSA Public Health Internship Program! The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the US Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is seeking applicants for the Public Health Internship Program. Public Health Interns will complete a one semester rotation within one of HRSA’s Bureaus or Offices. The public health internships at HRSA is an unfunded practicum experience for graduate and undergraduate students in good standing at schools of public health and public health programs in the United States.

February 23, 2012: Communications Internship! Stony Brook University Career Center is offering an opportunity to earn 6 credits while gaining valuable work experience. This position includes an opportunity to collaborate with Career Center Staff to research, write, and edit text for the Career Center’s Website and other publications. There will also be opportunities to work on projects that include reviewing and producing content for the 2013-2014 Career Guide and Press releases highlighting departmental and student accomplishments.

February 23, 2012: Business & Government Affairs Internship! The Institute on Business and Government Affairs is an 8-week academic internship program in Washington DC.  You can earn up to 9 credits from Georgetown University, live in on-campus housing and be placed in an internship in corporate government affairs offices.  The deadline to apply is March 7th

February 20, 2012: Summer Public Health Scholars Program! Columbia University Medical Center is hosting a 10 week internship for underrepresented minority students to increase interest and knowledge of public health and biomedical science careers.  The program includes public health field experience, seminars and lectures with public health leaders, faculty mentoring, a visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and a stipend upon program completion.  The deadline to apply is February 29th

February 14, 2012: Planned Parenthood Federation of America Internship! Planned Parenthood Federation of America is the nation’s leading women’s health care provider, educator and advocate, serving women, men, teens and families. The Education division is seeking an intern to assist in conducting a qualitative analysis of the chat/text program, in which trained agents answer user questions about STI testing, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, and abortion via chat or text. The internship will begin in early June and last for 10 weeks.

February 13, 2012: APHA Public Health Fellowship! The American Public Health Association (APHA) is looking for candidates with strong public health credentials who wish to spend one year in Washington, D.C. working in a congressional office on legislative and policy issues such as health, the environment or other public health concerns. The fellow will have the opportunity to see first-hand how public policy impacts public health and to offer their public health expertise to policymakers. The fellowship will begin in January 2013 and continue through December 2013. The application, including CV and three letters of recommendation, are due to APHA by April 9, 2012.

February 6, 2012: Red Rabbit Internship Opportunity! Red Rabbit is a NYC-based healthy school meal provider to the NY metro area. February 6, 2012: Internship Opportunity! In tandem with the SocialJusticeSexuality.com project, interns are needed to participate in a new research initiative exploring race, sexuality, and media.  Interns participating in the project will have the opportunity to conduct research and engage in any one or all three of the follow areas:  (1) conducting secondary analysis of national data; (2) conducting interviews and analyzing qualitative data; and/or (3) designing, developing, and implementing multiple forms of media (videos, social media and more). Interns are expected to commit about 10 hours per week to the project.

This annual summer program begins in late May or early June depending on candidate availability and lasts a minimum of 10 weeks. During this program you will have an opportunity to enhance your computer and statistical skills while working under the direction of a lead statistician.

February 6, 2012: Summer Graduate Environmental Health Internship! Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry is offering a 10-week summer internship program for graduate students.  Graduate Environmental Health program interns will be assigned to projects, can take part in a lecture series, and will be paid a stipend.  Applicants should have a passion for the environment and an eagerness to learn about the environment.
