Blue Ribbon Winners

Three Faculty members from Public Health and Preventive Medicine won the Blue Ribbon awards for designing a poster for the Population Association of America meet held at Boston, MA.

PAA is the preeminent meeting for demographers, population health researchers, and global health researchers. It is a 3-day meeting that has maintained a relatively small size through the use of very low acceptance rates (averaging 8% on presentations and around 25-30% on posters), thus if you have a paper or poster at PAA, it is generally very high quality.

The poster was entitled:  "Social inequalities in vaccination uptake among children aged 0-59 months in Madagascar: An analysis of Demographic and Health Survey data from 2008-09."

It was a poster with three authors all from Pub Health/Prev Med: Sean Clouston, Rachel Kidman, and Tia Palermo.
The poster references a paper that is now in press at Vaccine (“The pre-eminent journal for those interested in vaccines and vaccination:” IF=3.5). To access the article please click here
They were the poster-winner of the third session - as it turns out there were 88 posters in that session (each session has it’s own winner).
