Mission

The Master of Health Administration Program and the Health Policy & Management Concentration prepares entry level and mid-career healthcare management professionals who have the competencies necessary to lead in the healthcare sector in response to emerging administrative leadership and population health needs. We endeavor to achieve this mission through the successful delivery of a comprehensive course of graduate study in healthcare management and population health. Our students learn from healthcare leaders who value scholarship, research, evidence-based practice, and integrate innovative teaching methods in an online environment. Graduates are prepared to contribute as managers to support the delivery of high-quality care throughout the health services sector.

Goals

The Master of Health Administration Program maintains five overarching goals to guide programmatic development. Each goal has a series of corresponding sub-goals and benchmarks which inform assessment, data sharing, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The overarching goals are provided below: 

  1. The Master of Health Administration Program at Stony Brook Medicine will select and retain highly qualified students. 
  2. The Master of Health Administration Program at Stony Brook Medicine will provide a high-quality, competency-based educational experience to all students.
  3. The Master of Health Administration Program at Stony Brook Medicine will participate in professional development, research, scholarship and service to advance the field of healthcare management education.
