In partnership with the American Heart Association and the Stony Brook Medicine Healthy Libraries Program (HeLP), more than 50 Public Libraries in Suffolk County offer patrons the opportunity to borrow a blood pressure monitor for a period of 28 days, through their "Library of Things". Along with the monitor, the kit includes educational resources related to managing your blood pressure, a nutrition guide for heart healthy recipes, and how to locate follow-up information for blood pressure self-monitoring.
The cuffs come in three sizes:
- Small
- Standard
- Large
For information on the Omron Blood Pressure Device, please see the instruction manual and video guide, both available online.
There is also a talking device that comes with the kit, for the visually impaired. Check your local public library for more information. A list of public libraries in Suffolk County can be found here: https://www.livebrary.com/library-directory
